Roles in Every Successful Partnership

Partnership can mean so many things for so many different people…that's what makes it AMAZING!

There is no perfect mold or example. However, there are some strong indicators that will impact how successful a partnership will be, with the main one being... understanding your roles!

When we joined Primerica our partnership looked very different than it does today. Darren was the main rep and I was a supportive partner that only came to big events. I signed on as his first client, but other than that wasn't active in Primerica. It wasn't until he started to build a business and make money that we looked at what our partnership could look like if became licensed.

Once we made the decision that I would take on a more active role in our business it took awhile for us to figure out our roles. It has been said that two people working toward the same goal will be more successful than one working by themselves, but that only works if those two people don't keep stepping on each other on the road to success. It is imperative that you know each others' strengths, likes, and skills so you can have clearly defined roles.

Once you do that, and you respect the roles each of you are responsible for, it really will help your business flourish. It won't always be easy working together, but our philosophy is that our work life and home life are separate. We aren't husband and wife at the office. we are office manager and branch manager, and we respect those roles. Respect, honesty, and communication must be the foundation of your partnership for it to succeed.

We teach our team that not all partnerships will look like ours, and they aren't supposed to. Figure out what works best for your family. Know that whatever roles each of you take on are just as significant to the growth and success of your business. Primerica truly is a family business, and nothing promotes that more than strong partnerships in your organization. It truly is a blessing to be able to fully share all aspects of our lives thru partnership. It is an amazing feeling knowing that the future you are building is because of the efforts of BOTH of you contributing. Don't underestimate the legacy you could build if you chose to work together, set goals, and stand side by side as you accomplish everything you could

ever dream of!
