As we head into 2021, let’s give a virtual toast to this fresh start. With glasses high, let’s once again count our blessings that we are part of Primerica, a company that continues to shine as a beacon of hope and opportunity, no matter what.
With a look back on 2020, we know that women have experienced so much job loss from the pandemic, it’s been dubbed the “she- cession.” Industries that employed high numbers of women, like retail, hotels, restaurants and hospitality, were forced to downsize.
Widespread closings of schools and daycare centers impacted women more than men, with mothers of school aged children losing employment 30% more than fathers. In fact, as of October 2020, more than 2 million women had dropped out of the labor force, mostly due to virtual schooling.
While the numbers sound dire, YOU, our women leaders, have answered this call for help.
